Trey'Dez Green enters 2026 as one of LSU's most dangerous matchup weapons and one of the program's most decorated young tight ends.

Trey'Dez Green's Record-Setting Start

Green caught 33 passes for 433 yards and a team-best seven touchdowns in 2025. Through two LSU seasons, he had already set the program record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end with 11.

Lane Kiffin selected Green as one of LSU's two No. 7 recipients for 2026, sharing the honor with linebacker Whit Weeks. The number is traditionally reserved for elite playmakers and leaders.

Why It Matters for LSU in 2026

At 6-foot-7, Green changes the geometry of the field. He can create red-zone mismatches, stress linebackers and safeties, and give LSU a high-percentage target when defenses take away outside receivers.

What to Watch

  • How frequently Kiffin moves him around the formation

  • Whether he becomes LSU's primary red-zone target again

  • How defenses adjust coverage when he and the running backs share the field
