How Should LSU Defend Marcel Reed After What He Did Last Year?
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed rushed for a career-high 108 yards against LSU in 2025, including a career-long 41-yard touchdown. Last week, Kentucky forced a much different game from him: Reed completed 26 of 49 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Texas A&M’s 31–21 loss.
Texas A&M will also be without receiver/returner Terry Bussey, who is out for the remainder of the season with a lower-body injury.
Our Take: LSU’s worst answer would be rushing Reed recklessly and giving him clean escape lanes.
The better argument is whether Blake Baker should use a dedicated spy, rush four with strict lane discipline, or pressure Reed and accept some risk.
