Easton Royal and LSU: How Important Is Flipping the Five-Star Louisiana WR?
Fresh recruiting reporting this week says LSU continues to push for New Orleans five-star wide receiver Easton Royal as the 2027 Early Signing Period approaches. LSU currently has a top-10 2027 class, and both 247Sports and On3 continue to describe Royal as a major flip target while he evaluates LSU, Texas and Florida. There has not been a confirmed commitment change, so this remains a recruitment rather than a done deal. 247Sports
TigerHype Staff take: This one feels bigger than simply adding another highly ranked receiver because Royal is an elite Louisiana prospect. Keeping that caliber of offensive talent home has always carried extra weight at LSU.
How important is Easton Royal to this class: centerpiece recruit, luxury addition, or somewhere in between? And if LSU only lands one more elite skill player, would you prioritize WR or RB?
