LSU Recruiting & Transfer Portal

Fresh recruiting reporting this week says LSU continues to push for New Orleans five-star wide receiver Easton Royal as the 2027 Early Signing Period approaches. LSU currently has a top-10 2027 class, and both 247Sports and On3 continue to describe Royal as a major flip target while he evaluates LSU, Texas and Florida. There has not been a confirmed commitment change, so this remains a recruitment rather than a done deal. 247Sports

TigerHype Staff take: This one feels bigger than simply adding another highly ranked receiver because Royal is an elite Louisiana prospect. Keeping that caliber of offensive talent home has always carried extra weight at LSU.

How important is Easton Royal to this class: centerpiece recruit, luxury addition, or somewhere in between? And if LSU only lands one more elite skill player, would you prioritize WR or RB?

LSU hosted another significant recruiting group for the Texas A&M game. TigerBait reported the weekend included a major 2027 flip target plus elite prospects from the 2028 and 2029 classes. On3’s visit tracker listed 2028 prospects Keoni Snipes, Kameron Grisby and Hampton Smith among Saturday’s visitors. They watched LSU dominate a ranked SEC opponent in a primetime Tiger Stadium environment. TigerBait.com

TigerHype Staff take: A big game atmosphere gets prospects on campus; performances like Saturday give coaches something concrete to sell. LSU showed defensive dominance, explosive passing plays and aggressive fourth-down decision-making — all useful recruiting ammunition.

If you were recruiting for LSU today, what would you sell hardest from that game: Death Valley, Blake Baker’s defense, Kiffin’s offense, or the chance to play early?
